I very recently made a post about how to cure your bad hair days. Admittedly bad hair days are inevitable no matter what kind of hair you have, but growing up with curly hair somehow makes these days occur more frequently. We have all had those days, so here are a few of my worst, and the things I could have done (and wish I had done) to prevent them!

1. Over- Straightening: The first step to keeping your hair healthy while still putting it under the iron is to use a good heat protectant ( like our Curlisto Straight Time Glaze). As constant straightening often leaves hair with frayed edges and split ends, a good repair cream (Curlisto Repair Cream) will be necessary as well.

2. The Right Bangs For You: There is no reason for someone with curly hair to refrain from cutting their hair into bangs, but if you want to avoid frizzy, unmanageable bangs, go for long, side swept ones, not short blunt ones.

3. Blonde Highlights: If you are highlighting your hair, make sure to stick to a non toxic form of coloring with very few complex ingredients. At Curlisto, we use a vegetable based color which will keep from damaging the hair shaft due to harsh chemical treatment.

4. Brushed Out Curls: Don’t do it, invest in a wide tooth comb. Brushes break apart the hair strand and create frizz while a wide tooth comb will detangle while still keeping curls in tact.

5. Malnourished Hair: The most important part of any style is to start with healthy, gorgeous hair! Our all natural, vegan products are specifically formulated to promote strong, nourished strands. With regular haircuts, conditioning and perhaps the use of our Curlisto Deep Therapy Masque you will have your hair back in fighting shape in no time.
